I'm Catherine
I’m an online English tutor and qualified secondary school teacher with 25 years of experience, specialising in Upper KS2, KS3 and GCSE English Language and Literature.
I help students develop key English skills and prepare for 11+, 13+ Common Entrance and GCSE English exams through personalised 1:1 tuition and targeted resources.
With a PGCE in Secondary Education (English), a BA (Hons) in English and a TEFL Certificate, I adapt every lesson to suit individual needs, from exam preparation to creative writing.
My ethos is to create a positive, supportive environment where students build confidence, focus on their strengths, and leave each lesson feeling motivated and ready to succeed.

My lessons are fully tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on reading comprehension, essay writing, creative writing and exam techniques.
With 25 years of teaching experience, I offer flexible sessions (45, 60, or 75 minutes) to help students boost grades, build confidence, and achieve exam success.
